This picture was taken in September of 1994 above the Arctic Circle north of Alaska. The submarine broke through a few feet of ice allowing only the sail, as seen in the background, to break the surface. As best as I can remember, the weather was fair and the temperature was near 15 degrees F.  We spent several hours out on the ice during which we had a barbeque, played football, hit a few golf balls, took several pictures depicting the distance to various crew members hometowns, and generally just relaxed and enjoyed the serenity and tranquility that is the Arctic.
Unfortunately this picture is a bit blurred and grainy but hopefully some of the faces are recognizable.  As best I can remember, and sometimes that is only a partial name or nicknames, the crew pictured from left to right are:

A civilian scientist, Doc George, COB Ervin, Mike Hern, Brent Magurno, Tucker, Joel Sparnon, Jim Bowery, ? , XO Batula, Dasownia, Jim Kamm, ? , Eddins, Andy Morrill, CO Brian Wegner, Jeff Jenkins, Nick Pompa, Stienfeld, Zane Sterns, "Lumpy", ? , McCormic, Batts, Bill Holder, ? , ? , ? , ? , ? , Cappezone, Wilson, Benson, Gay, ? , "MSC", Wesley Valence,  Ric Hair
